Josef studied chemistry in Graz. During his MSc-Thesis he conducted research on how to detect organic arsenic compounds using mass-spectrommety, before he started concentrating on the development of lab-on-a-chip technologies in the course of his PhD. His research interests include: the development of integrated analytical devices, and other forms of chemical sleuthing.
